Zdenka Podkapova states, "I never wanted to become a model, to place myself in front of the photographers and to take pains of going round on agencies with my picture book." But fate was on her side and at the age of 18, Zdenka was offered her first gig, shooting black and white fine art nudes with a Czech photographer. However, it wasn’t until a few years later when Zdenka's career would really take off thanks to meeting Suze Randall who Zdenka describes as, "one of the most demanding, admired and famous photographers in the world." This stupendous alliance dazzled readers everywhere, and in 1999 Zdenka graced the cover of Penthouse USA as their April Pet of the Month. That same year Zdenka was also in Spark, FQL and Pet of the Month in the Czech Republic as well as Pet of the Year in Bulgaria.
